Director of Administration
Bette Franken is a native of Kentucky but a long time North Carolina resident. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology (Archaeology/Geography) from University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She earned a Master degree in Museum Science from Texas Tech University.
Ms. Franken has twenty four years working in the field of Security Assistance and Security Cooperation. She was the Chief of the International Military Student Office at the US Army John F Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, Fort Bragg, N.C., from 1989-2003. She assumed the Counterterrorism Program Manager position at NDU in 2003. She is currently the Director of Administration in the International Student Management Office at NDU. Prior to her work in SA/SC, she was the Registrar at the SWCS Museum in Fort Bragg, NC.
Ms. Franken has two grown children, James, a military analyst with SOF contractor and Sara, a TSA Behavioral Detection Officer at Reagan National Airport.
